The Bracket Is Set. Eight Teams, Two Lives, One Trophy.

August 20, 2026 ยท Commissioner

The regular season is over. Nobody gets to say "we're still figuring things out" anymore.

Eight teams. Everybody's in. Two Sundays, fifteen games, one trophy. And starting Sunday, every single one of you is exactly two bad games away from cleaning out the cooler and going home.

๐Ÿ† Your Final Standings

  1. Case of Wiffle โ€” 7-1
  2. Ice Cold Pitchers โ€” 6-2
  3. Team Joey Freshwater โ€” 6-2
  4. Swingers & Dingers โ€” 4-4
  5. Ball Busters โ€” 3-4-1
  6. Wifflemania โ€” 3-5
  7. The Whiff Pack โ€” 1-6-1
  8. Here for the Beers โ€” 1-7

Case of Wiffle takes the top seed and the only thing that comes with it: a first-round game against a team that won once all year.

About that 2 seed

Ice Cold Pitchers and Team Joey Freshwater both finished 6-2.

Joey Freshwater outscored the entire league โ€” plus-71 run differential, twenty-five runs clear of anybody else. Blowouts, all summer. Didn't matter.

Because back on June 14, opening week, Ice Cold Pitchers beat them 10-9. That is the entire season series. One game, one run, and head-to-head is the tiebreaker before run differential.

Ice Cold gets the 2. Joey Freshwater gets the 3, and a whole week to think about one run in June.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Sunday, August 23

Eight games, 11:00 to 7:00. Everybody plays at least twice.

Only if we need it

The winners final goes first for a reason. Whoever loses it doesn't go home โ€” they drop to the losers final at 4:00, and playing at noon gives them four hours to sit with it instead of walking off one field and onto another.

A warning for whoever climbs out of the losers bracket: you could be playing at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00. Four games, back to back to back to back, to win this thing. That's the price of losing once. Bring a second shirt.

๐Ÿ’€ How This Works

It's double elimination. Lose once and you drop into the losers bracket, where you keep playing. Lose twice and your season is over.

Which means nobody is out after Sunday morning, and nobody is safe after Sunday morning either. The losers bracket fights its way all the way back to the championship โ€” a team can lose its very first game at 11:00 and still win the whole thing. It just has to win every single game from there, and then beat the undefeated team twice at the end.

And if the team that comes up through the losers bracket wins the championship game at 5:00, we play one more at 6:00. The team that never lost all tournament doesn't go home on one bad inning โ€” they get a second crack. That's the whole point of the format.

Which is also why the 6:00 slot on the 30th might just never happen. Win the championship as the undefeated team and everybody goes home an hour early.

๐Ÿ“‹ A Few Reminders

  • No substitutes in playoff games. None. This was adopted in 2026 and this is exactly the situation it was adopted for.
  • You must have played two regular season games to be eligible. Check your roster now, not at 10:55 on Sunday.
  • No ties. Ties were a regular season courtesy. These get settled on the field โ€” the site won't even let a captain report one.
  • Captains: report scores straight from the bracket page as the games finish, so everybody knows who's playing at 3:00.
